The Armorettes and friends at the Heretic, and Burkhart's in Atlanta. 2011.

Having sat for me every Sunday for several months, I became accustom to the hilarious nature of the Armorettes performers, and also the quietness that goes along with the transformation of persona and the queering of the heteronormative concepts of gender. The Camp Drag troupe performs at least once a week at Burkhart's to raise money for HIV and AIDS programs in Atlanta, and they use humorous and ironic performances as activism to counter homophobia and sexism. To date they have raised over 2 million dollars.
